Since 1996, I have been involved in fancy pigeons as a breeder, exhibitor, and judge. In 2009, our local club discussed possible alternatives for medals as show awards where the late Stewart Patterson showed us small figurines. I realized that I have the artistic skills to make something similar and established Feather Art Awards as a part time hobby.

 

Originally my designs were more flat backed figures glued to wooden plagues until a few years later when I attended the 2012 Europa Show in Leipzig, Germany. It was advertised as the mother of all shows and had been on my bucket list for some time. It was there that I recieved many requests for 3D figurines which I immediately worked on upon my return.

Since then, I have attended many international shows where I sold my work and met many other pigeon enthusiasts. Feather Art Awards has expanded to produce close to 200 different breeds of fancy pigeons and is still growing.
